BACKGROUND

A Bangladeshi citizen, currently holding the position of a Professor in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) Discipline, Khulna University, Bangladesh. I have experience in conducting theoretical/sessional courses in several government/private Universities/Institutes. Graduate courses include Laser Processing of Materials, Fiber-optic Communications, Electronics of Solids, Optical Networks, and Nonophotonics. Undergraduate courses include Electrical Circuits, Electronic Devices and Circuits, Digital Electronics, Numerical Methods, Power Electronics, Digital Communication, and Optoelectronic Devices & Optical Communication. I have research experience in laser processing of materials, developing large variety of drones, passive optical networks (PONs), and designing & analysis of various photonic devices (e.g. LEDs, OLEDs, organic solar cells, and PCFs).

MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS

ü  Developed lenticular fiber assisted dust measurement devices

ü  Developed microstrip patch antennas using laser

ü  Developed breathable films using laser

ü  Fabricated micro-lens array using CO2 laser for beam shaping applications

ü  Development of various autonomous and non-autonomous drones

ü  Developed a novel technique for 3D hologram printing using femtosecond laser

ü  Developed beam shaper and synchronized femtosecond laser pulse system

ü  Developed CO2 laser assisted polishing technique for polishing of angled ribbon fibers, formation of cylindrical and circular micro-lens arrays on glass surface

ü  Achieved superhydrophobic soda-lime glass surface by femtosecond laser

ü  Achieved femtosecond laser based metal colorizing

ü  Designed highly efficient LEDs, OLEDs, solar cells, and PCF based sensors

ü  Designed hybrid WDM/TDM-PON, LiFi, and undersea optical communication systems


RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

ü  Currently I am working for designing various high efficiency photonic devices including dust measurement devices, FBG sensors, lenticular fibers, light emitting diodes (LEDs), organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs), and PCF based sensor devices. I have research experience in laser assisted fabrication of microstrip patch antennas, breathable films, beam shaper, 3D holograms, and micro-lens arrays. Furthermore, I am working with LiFi, undersea wireless optical communication, RTIS, and PONs. I am also conducting research works to develop a large variety of mechatronic devices such as drones, and EEG/EMG sensor based prosthetic arms.

ü  As an Associate Professor in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) Discipline, Khulna University, Bangladesh since 2011, I have research experience on laser processing of materials, LEDs, OLEDs, organic solar cells, and designing various PON models.

ü  Being a Post-doctoral researcher since March, 2013 to October, 2013 in GIST, South Korea, I have research experience on femtosecond laser based micro/nano-patterning of various materials including ITO, grapheme, fused silica glass, and ribbon fiber. The achievements during this period are micro-lens array, multi-layer diffraction gratings, Fresnel zone plate lens, and polishing of ribbon fibers.

ü  Being a Post-doctoral researcher since February, 2012 to February, 2013 at KAIST, South Korea, I have research experience on femtosecond laser based micro/nano-machining of various materials including glasses, metals, sapphire, magnetic materials, and polymers. The key achievement during this period is femtosecond laser induced superhydrophobic soda-lime glass surface, nanoholes in borosilicate glass, colorizing brass surface by femtosecond laser, and interactions of femtosecond laser pulses with various materials.

ü  As a Research Assistant in the Photonics Application Lab of KAIST, South Korea since 2008 to 2012, I have research experience in femtosecond laser based micro/nano-structuring of various materials including glasses, metals, polymers, sapphire, and magnetic materials. The research was also focused on Passive Optical Networks (PONs). The prime achievements during this period are the femtosecond laser induced nano-holes, self-formed nanogratings, nano-cones, nano-ripples, & micro/nano-fluidic channels in soda-lime glass, colorizing stainless steel surfaces by periodic micro/nano-structures, self-organized nanogratings on various materials; an architecture of a hybrid WDM/TDM-PON is also reported.

ü  As an Assistant Professor in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) Discipline, Khulna University, Bangladesh since 2006, I have research experience on laser processing of materials, CDMA based systems, designing Road Traffic Information System, design and fabrication of Electronic Voting Machine, and analytical modeling of MOSFET.

ü  As a Lecturer in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) Discipline, Khulna University, Bangladesh since 2003, I have research experience on designing Road Traffic Information System.

   ü   Ms/PhD (Integrated) Theses: I conducted my Ms/PhD (Integrated) thesis under the supervision of Prof. Man Seop Lee of KAIST, South     Korea. The title of the thesis was “Formation of micro/nano-structures on glasses and metals using femtosecond laser and their applications.”

    ü    Undergraduate Theses: We conducted the undergraduate thesis under the supervision of Professor Mohammad Ismat Kadir of Electronics and     Communications Engineering Discipline, Khulna University, Bangladesh. The title of the thesis was “Design of a Fault Tolerant Asynchronous        Transfer Mode (ATM) Switch.”
