- An orthogonal time frequency space (OTFS) based waveform design has been proposed for joint sensing and communication (JSAC) systems in terahertz (THz) channels. Very low latency with almost zero zitter, high transmission data rate, precision sensing and positioning are key requirements for the sixth generation (6G) and beyond systems. The THz (0.1–10 THz) band has great promised to satisfy these requirements. In addition, the OTFS modulation scheme offers inherent resilience to delay as well as Doppler-shifts. This modulation is compatible with multiple input multiple output (MIMO) systems and effective in high-mobily environments providing versatility across various channels. On the other hand, the JSAC systems, are capable of performing both sensing and communication functionalites using same frequency band and same hardware resources. The cost of JSAC systems in terms of the equipment, deployment, and maintenance may be reduced. New waveform design and interference mitigation are crucial component for JSAC system. I proposed OTFS-based waveform for JSAC. I also investigate the performance of the OTFS-based JSAC systems over the THz channel. Furthermore, I consider multi-user (MU) MIMO for the JSAC systems and evaluate its performance. Specifically, the performance of the system is evaluated in terms of range-angle response, ambiguity function and sum rate and error performance. The proposed system is significantly improved compared to the traditional schemes.
