Md. Menhazul Abedin
Associate Professor



I hold a Ph.D. from the Graduate School of Chemical Science and Engineering at Hokkaido University, Japan, where I conducted research under the supervision of Professor Tamiki Komatsuzaki. My research focuses on the Bandit algorithm, particularly the Contextual Bandit algorithm, and its applications in sequential decision-making. My Ph.D. thesis, titled “Study on Multi-armed Bandit Algorithm for Sequential Experiments to Predict the Best Molecule with Dynamic Feature Selection,” investigates the potential of this algorithm in fields such as molecule searching and drug screening. The Bandit algorithm has diverse applications across internet advertising, social media platforms like Facebook and YouTube, and internet routing.

I completed my B.Sc. (Hons) and M.Sc. degrees from the Department of Statistics at Rajshahi University, Bangladesh. My master’s thesis, supervised by the late Dr. Mohammad Nasser, Professor of Statistics at Rajshahi University, was titled “Prospects and Problems of Artificial Neural Network Based Supervised Learning.”

Throughout my career, I have attended numerous national and international conferences, presenting my work in both oral and poster sessions. My research findings have been published in several high-impact Q1 journals, covering domains such as Public Health, Machine Learning, and Bioinformatics, with a focus on Microarray gene expression data.
