click hereImpact of Woman's Working Status on Spousal Abuse in Bangladesh: A Meta Analytical Review on Urban and Urban Slum Area
Objectives: To conduct a meta-analysis of trials evaluating the effect of woman’s working
status on domestic violence in Bangladesh within urban and urban Slums areas.
Methods: A collection of different studies was considered based on Bangladesh's urban
and urban slums. Some studies were selected from well-known publications for metaanalysis purposes based on the working status along with the study area. Primary data was also
collected and analyzed for our purpose.
Results: Seven studies (Urban=4 and Urban Slum=3) with significant results for woman
working status. In the urban areas (i) Domestic violence on non-working women is 2.07188
times of the working woman (confidence interval 1.0503, 4.08) (ii) Domestic violence on
the non-working woman is 1.12 times of the working woman (confidence interval 0.89, 1.4)
(iii) Domestic violence on a non-working woman is 1.6131 times of that of a working woman
(confidence interval 0.674, 1.88) (iv) Domestic violence against a non-working woman is 1.8
times of the working woman (confidence interval 0.99, 3.4). In urban slum (i) Domestic
violence on a non-working women is 0.88 times of the working woman (confidence interval
0.532, 1.484) (ii) Domestic violence on a non-working woman is 1.1.423 times of the
working woman (confidence interval 0.629, 1.937) (iii) Domestic violence on non-working
the woman is 1.164 times of the working woman (confidence interval 1.031, 1.313). In
In summary the non-working woman is 1.622 times more physically abused than the working
woman (confidence interval 1.45744, 1.78626) wherein in slum areas non-working women are 1.147 times more physically abused than the working woman (Confidence interval 1.0244,
1.257). In total the non-working woman has 30% more abuse rate in non-working woman
then working woman (Confidence interval 1.183, 1.369)
Conclusion: On the basis of meta-analysis we can conclude that in urban areas non-working
Women are 62% more violated than the working woman and in slum areas non-working
Women are 14% more violated. In an overall summary, non-working women are 30% more
physically abused than working women.
