The immune-mediated inflammatory disorder psoriasis is a common chronic skin disease characterized by hyperactivity of phosphodiesterase-4 (PDE4), leading to the reduction in cAMP levels and overexpression of pro-inflammatory cytokines. Even though Aloe vera has been used for a long time as a dermatological therapeutic agent, there is still scarcity of scientific evidence regarding its anti-psoriatic phytochemicals.
