Abstract

Abstract: Genocide in 1971 started with the launch of Operation Search Light on 25th March is one of the most significant characteristics of the Liberation War of Bangladesh. It was the most heinous and largest genocide of post Second World War in the human history of 20th century. It’s a rare massacre in the human civilization that took only nine months to kill up to 3 million people and to rape and torture approximately 6 lacks women. Killing, rape, looting, atrocities were the very daily events during the nine-month long war of liberation. As a result, 30 lacks people embraced martyrdom and 6 lacks women were severely victimized by Pakistani Military in collaboration with the local Militias (Razakars, Al-Badr, At-Shams and members of the Peace Committee). Most of the people died in 1971 were the general people and their contribution remained substantially under reported and sometimes unreported. The direct and indirect contribution of the lacks of unanimous people glorified our war of independence. In this essay I explore the Boroitola Genocide under Kishoregonj district that took place on 13th October 1971 where around 400 people were killed within one hour. As a researcher I will apply the holistic approach to have a complete picture about the Boroitola genocide.
