Md. Azharul Islam
Professor
Md. Azharul Islam is a professor at Forestry and Wood Technology Discipline in Khulna University. He received his PhD from University of Ioannina, Greece in 2009 and carried out first post-doctoral research in Chemical Engineering at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). Later he continued his second postdoctoral study at University of Zagreb, Croatia. He received his B.Sc. and MS degrees in Forestry from Khulna University. He is an ex-cadet of Pabna Cadet College. Dr. Azhar has preceded different research projects funded by TWAS (World Academy of Science), Ministry of Education, Ministry of Science and Technology, UGC, Khulna University research cell. Until now he has published more than 60 peer reviewed articles from international journals and several conference papers. His research interest involves thermochemical conversion of lignocellulosic biomass for energy and environmental applications.
