Bangladesh Country Office; particularly was responsible to Coordinate the activities of Bangladesh
Wetlands Network that was setup to influence its members to i) Conserve and restore wetlands
biodiversity, ii) Rehabilitate and degraded or abandoned wetland areas,
iii) Ensure equitable access of the
community to the wetland resources, (iv)Identify indicators for different
areas to monitor the changes in health of the ecosystem, v) Identify gaps and
conflicts in different sectoral policies, especially land use policy in terms
of conservation of Wetlands and fisheries resources and vi) Develop policy
guidelines on different environmental issues of wetlands. Organized

two day Conference on Wetlands: People, Land, Water and Fish;
