বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ড্রইং এন্ড পেইন্টিং ডিসিপ্লিনের উদ্যোগে সমকালীন শিল্পকলা ও ইউরোপের
চিত্রকলা সম্পর্কে শিক্ষার্থীদের সমৃদ্ধ করার লক্ষ্যে আর্টিস্ট টক অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে।
১৮ আগস্ট (সোমবার) বিকাল ৩.৩০ মিনিটে চারুকলা স্কুলের স্মার্ট ক্লাসরুমে আর্টিস্ট টক
অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।

প্রধান আলোচক হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ইংল্যান্ডভিত্তিক সক্রিয় শিল্পী ঊর্মি রায়। তিনি
বর্তমানে যুক্তরাজ্যের কেমব্রিজে বসবাস ও কাজ করছেন। তাঁর শিল্পচর্চা অভিবাসন ও সাংস্কৃতিক
রূপান্তরের অভিজ্ঞতা থেকে অনুপ্রাণিত, যেখানে নারীত্ব, অন্তর্ভুক্তি, পরিচয় ও স্বজনতার
বিষয়গুলো বিশেষভাবে প্রতিফলিত হয়। পাশাপাশি তিনি সংস্কৃতি, প্রাকৃতিক দৃশ্য, সম্প্রদায়
ও ব্যক্তিগত অভিজ্ঞতার মধ্যকার বিরোধ ও সংযোগ নিয়েও কাজ করেন।
আলোচনায়
শিল্পী নিজের শিল্পকর্ম ও ইউরোপের শিল্পশিক্ষা নিয়ে শিক্ষার্থীদের সঙ্গে মতবিনিময় করেন।
তিনি ইউরোপীয় শিল্পভাবনার বৈশিষ্ট্য তুলে ধরে শিক্ষার্থীদের সৃজনশীলতা বিকাশে উৎসাহিত
করেন। উপস্থিত শিক্ষার্থীরা এ আয়োজন থেকে ইউরোপীয় চিত্রকলা ও শিল্পচর্চা সম্পর্কে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ
ধারণা অর্জন করেন, যা তাদের নিজস্ব শিল্পরচনা ও জ্ঞানভাণ্ডারকে সমৃদ্ধ করবে বলে আশা
প্রকাশ করা হয়।
ড্রইং
এন্ড পেইন্টিং ডিসিপ্লিনের প্রধান ড. মোঃ তরিকত ইসলামের সভাপতিত্বে অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত
ছিলেন ডিসিপ্লিনের সহযোগী অধ্যাপক ড. আবু কালাম শামসুদ্দিন, রকিব হাসান, মোহাম্মদ নজরুল
ইসলাম, সহকারী অধ্যাপক বিটপ শোভন বাছাড়, মুহম্মদ খায়রুল হাসান, অনিবার্ণ মল্লিক, প্রভাষক
মিশকাতুল আবীর। অনুষ্ঠান সঞ্চালনা করেন সহকারী অধ্যাপক শাপলা সিংহ। এ আর্টিস্ট টকে
ড্রইং এন্ড পেইন্টিং ডিসিপ্লিনের বিভিন্ন বর্ষের প্রায় ৬০ জন শিক্ষার্থী অংশগ্রহণ করেন।
An Artist Talk was organized by the
Discipline of Drawing and Painting at Khulna University with the aim of
enriching students’ knowledge of contemporary art and European painting. The
event was held on Monday, 18 August, at 3:30 PM in the Smart Classroom
of the School of Fine Arts.
The keynote speaker of the event was
Urmi Roy, an England-based practicing artist. She is currently living
and working in Cambridge, United Kingdom. Her artistic practice is inspired by
experiences of migration and cultural transformation, where themes of
femininity, inclusion, identity, and kinship are prominently reflected.
Alongside these, she also works on the conflicts and connections between
culture, landscapes, community, and personal experiences.
During the discussion, the artist
shared her artworks and insights on European art education with the students.
She highlighted the characteristics of European artistic thought and encouraged
students to foster their creativity. The participating students expressed that
the program provided them with valuable knowledge about European painting and
artistic practices, which would enrich their own art-making and intellectual
growth.
The session was presided over by Dr. Md. Tarikat Islam, Head of the Discipline of Drawing and Painting. Among others present were Associate Professors Dr. Abu Kalam Shamsuddin, Rakib Hasan, and Mohammad Nazrul Islam; Assistant Professors Bitap Shovon Bachar, Mohammad Khairul Hasan, and Anirban Mallick; Lecturer Miskatul Abir. The event was conducted by Assistant Professor Shapla Singha. Around 60 students from different academic years of the Discipline participated in the Artist Talk.
