Sunflower growth, yield and nutrient uptake as influenced by different nitrogen levels

Based on the result of the research it was found that the growth, yield and nutrient uptake significantly varied. The response of different nitrogen treatments on sunflower height was statistically significant. Treatment (T6: N180kg ha-1) produced taller plants and (T0: N0 kg ha-1) produced smaller plants. The effect of N fertilizer with various rates on head diameter and shoot diameter was higher with increasing trend of N fertilizer. The response of N fertilizer rates on grain yield and stover yield was significant, increasing with application of more N fertilizer. Treatment (T6: N180kg ha-1) produced higher grain yield and stover yield. Treatment (T0: N0 kg ha-1) produced lower grain yield and stover yield. The nutrient uptake of sunflower plant was also statistically significant. In all cases, like growth, yield and nutrient uptake Treatment (T6: N180kg ha-1) showed maximum result but Treatment (T5: N150 kg ha-1) almost showed the same result. That’s why T5 was the best treatment in this experiment.
