Influence of saline water and phosphorus on yield and nutrient uptake of Sesame in a non-saline soil

High levels of phosphorus significantly increased grain, stover and biological yield as well as nutrients uptake such as P, K, S, Na whereas lower levels of phosphorus application had no significant effect those parameters as well as the nutrients uptake. The single effect of increasing saline water irrigation at same phosphorus level was negative on yield characteristics and P, K uptake where S, Na uptake was high in higher salinity level at same P level. On the contrary, the single effect of phosphorus at same salinity level was positive on yield characteristics and P, K, Na whereas the S uptake was, randomly, affected because of interactive effect of salinity and phosphorus. The study also concluded that the high phosphorus application reduced the effect of salinity of sesame in a little extent.
