In this study, we
measured P sorption potential, using the P sorption index (PSI). The
study revealed that Ghior, Bajoa, Dumuria and Barishal series soils have
relatively high P sorption capacities. High P sorption is considered as a
constraint to economic utilization of P because >80% of fertilizer applied P
will be immediately unavailable for plant uptake either due to adsorption,
precipitation or both.
