The project entitled “Social Status in the Context of Dominance of English in Gauri Shinde’s English Vinglish” is a qualitative research which uses content analysis as its method to explore how English language determines someone’s social status. The paper nicely explains how Shinde’s film deals with the relationship between language and social inequalities.
