Khushwant Singh’s novel Train to Pakistan
portrays a realistic picture of the partition
of 1947 in India. Due to the partition of 1947, the Hindu-Muslim
relationship changes. The Hindu-Muslim relationship is influenced by religious,
social and political manipulation. The study shows that during and after the
1947 split, Hindu-Muslim ties were in danger. It discloses the true nature of
their relationship both before and after the partition. It also reveals the
reasons why their friendly relationship declines.
