Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, a 2005 film directed by Tim Burton, is based on the British novel of the
same name by Roald Dahl. This film is the second adaptation of the novel Charlie and
the Chocolate Factory and
the first adaptation was named Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971). The film is a profoundly imaginative work combining elements of fantasy that
nearly have everything to do with chocolate. In this project, Syada Morshada has found chocolate to be a magical element. She used Franz Roh's theory
of Magic Realism to study the amalgamated world of real and fantasy in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, where chocolate is the catalyst of all magic.
