We are very proud of our track record of excellence in both teaching and research and we regard ourselves as one of the premier Discipline for our size in the entire region.Today we are a large and dynamic Discipline comprising talented research faculty who are well-recognized in their fields of inquiry, teaching faculty who came from different university, and technical and administrative staff who garner university acclaim for their achievements.We are a scholarly group of faculty, students, and staff working together to explore the how the world functions at the atomic level. As a faculty, we believe in the hands-on training of our students. Our curriculum, therefore, is focused on providing ample student opportunities to work with relevant instrumentation, to learn experimental design, execution, and troubleshooting, and to practice with various forms of scientific communication. These topics are integrated throughout the core chemistry courses, capstone lab experiences, and undergraduate research. At the undergraduate level we offer comprehensive programs in Chemistry, all featuring extensive hands-on training in research.Be sure that after graduation from our faculty you will be highly qualified for job competition in various pharmaceutical institutions in academia, governmental, health care and industry, in Bangladesh and other countries. Welcome to the Chemistry Discipline of Khulna University.Chemistry is often regarded as the central science because it connects the physical, biological, environmental, and technological sciences. It enables us to understand the composition, structure, properties, and transformations of matter, and provides the scientific foundation for innovations that improve human life and support sustainable development. A sound knowledge of chemistry is essential for addressing contemporary challenges related to health, energy, environment, agriculture, advanced materials, and industry.Since the commencement of its academic activities on July 2009, the Chemistry Discipline has grown steadily as a dynamic center of education and research under the School of Science, Engineering and Technology. From its modest beginning, the Discipline has expanded its academic and research facilities and developed a strong team of dedicated faculty members with expertise in diverse areas of chemical sciences. This growth reflects our commitment to providing quality education and fostering a culture of scientific inquiry and innovation.Our academic programs are designed and delivered through an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum that focuses on developing knowledge, practical skills, critical thinking, problem-solving ability, ethical values, leadership qualities, and effective communication skills. The curriculum integrates classroom learning, laboratory experiences, and research activities to ensure that graduates are well prepared for professional careers and higher studies.In addition to the undergraduate program in Chemistry, we offer postgraduate programs including Master of Science (M.S.) in Chemistry (Coursework) and Master of Science in Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, and Physical Chemistry (Mixed-Mode). We also offer Doctoral program (Mixed-mode and Research-mode). These programs provide advanced theoretical knowledge, intensive laboratory training, and research opportunities that enable students to contribute meaningfully to academia, industry, and research organizations.The Chemistry Discipline remains committed to excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement.
