RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN RURALITY AND SPATIAL INEQUALITY IN LAGGING AND NON- LAGGING DISTRICTS OF BANGLADESH: A UNION- LEVEL ANALYSIS

 This thesis is organized around three sequential objectives that together build its empirical and argumentative contribution.

Objective 1 is to describe and measure the distribution of rurality and spatial inequality across unions using the Rurality Index (RI) and Spatial Inequality Index (SII).

Objective 2 is to conduct a comparative analysis between lagging and non-lagging districts to assess how similar levels of rurality correspond to different inequality outcomes across varying development contexts

Objective 3 is to apply spatial analysis and interpretation to identify geographic patterns, clustering, and the spatial concentration of disadvantage across the study area.
