Assessing impact of urbanization on food security of farmer household at peri urban area: A case study of Khulna

The comprehensive exploration conducted throughout this thesis sheds light on the intricate dynamics of rapid urbanization and its profound implications on farmland conversion and the well-being of farmers in Bangladesh. Through a meticulous analysis of farmer experiences, socio-economic trends, and policy frameworks, this research underscores the urgency of addressing the multifaceted challenges posed by urban encroachment into agriculturally productive regions.

The findings unveiled a stark reality: the loss of arable land represents a critical threat to farmers' livelihood. The conversion of fertile lands into residential or commercial zones, coupled with forced displacement of farmer households, exacerbates socio-economic vulnerabilities and fractures established community ties. The narratives of farmers, rich with emotion and urgency, underscore the imperative for holistic policy interventions that prioritize the preservation of farmers' rights and well-being amidst rapid urbanization.

However, amidst these challenges lie opportunities for transformative change.
