Sociology is being studied as a distinct Discipline under Social Science School at Khulna University in Bangladesh since 2002 through launching Bachelor of Social Science (Hons.) in Sociology. In 2009, it stepped into more advanced level study by introducing Masters of Social Science (MSS) in Sociology program. Apart from these, the Discipline has introduced an evening program named Master of Population and Gender Studies (MPGS) in 2015. In 2021, The discipline has introduced Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Program.
