Impact of Private Tutoring of University Students on their academic achievements

Now a day, private tutoring has emerged as an important issue in education as its demand has been growing around the world. However, the evidence of the effectiveness of private tutoring is still mixed. In the study, it showed that most of the male students (66%) are involved in private tutoring. Most of the students of social science school in Khulna University (30%) are involved in different types of tuition. Most of the respondents of the study (58%) are 1st to 3rd year's student. It also showed that around 70% of the respondents who are involved in private tutoring come from nuclear family The average monthly family income of the respondents is 24660 taka and the average monthly family expenditure is 21645 takas. The average amount of money getting from family is 3421.4268 taka. 40% of the respondents select private tuition as a temporary job because of earning extra money Most of the respondents (76%) prefer home tutoring. Almost 26% of the respondents give tuition three subjects. Most of the respondents prefer English (26%). The average monthly income of the respondents is 4443 takas. Almost 65% of the respondents spent their earning money for self-support. Most of the respondents (61%) spent almost 1-2 hours for tutoring. 51% of the respondents spent time for tutoring based study. They (21%) spent almost an hour for tutoring based study Around 45% of the respondents got B (3.00-3.24 grade points) grade. 66% of the respondents are having term without tutoring. Most of the respondent's attendance rate are 81%-100%. In the study, it showed that tiredness (36%) is one of the significant reason of being absence in classes. Tiredness (30%) is one of the most significant problem facing during the tuition time.
