This study focused on the effect of COVID-19 on social behavior of students of Khulna University. Covid-19 has become one of the distressful infectious diseases and fear in human history. However, Bangladesh is one of worst-affected countries in this pandemic due to lack of enough treatment facilities, protective measures, corruption and poor socioeconomic background Young adults and students are considered one of the most vulnerable group during pandemic Because, the pandemic has enormous impact on their study and their mental health issues including anxiety, depression and insomnia among them are the common impact of covid-19 on mental health. Thus, this made radical changes in human social behavior and attitudes. Since, human behavior is related to their mental health. So, this study seeks to identify the Effect of Covid-19 Pandemic on Social Behavior of Students in Khulna University, which was the main objective of this study. This study was carried out in the Social Science School of Khulna University and population was drawn from the sociology discipline. Qualitative method were used to conduct the study. In this study, Focused Group Discussion (FGD), In-Depth Interview (IDI) and Key-informant interview (KII) method was used to muster up the data. Purposive sampling method were used to collect primary data. To collect the data, 39 samples were selected from the study area through survey method with a constructed questionnaire. There were two FGD groups of 16 participants, 18 participants in IDI and 5 participants in KII, who participated in the interview sessions. Thematic data analysis method was used to analyze the interviewed data. The findings of the study suggest that most of the participants suffered from mental health problems due to financial crisis, lack of social interaction, lockdown restrictions, social isolation and distancing as well as excessive usage of technology that also affected their thinking, behavioral pattern, mood, acts and activities. The study concluded that a positive attitudinal development and self-esteem building is needed to improve human social behavior, People should socialize more and attend social gatherings to keep their mental health sane as well as students should be given instructions and guidance about positive behaviors by teachers and parents
