Factors Motivating Parents to Enroll Children in Hifz Madrasah: A Qualitative Study in Sarankhola Upazila

Muslim religious education places a high value on memorizing the Qur'an. In educational institutions throughout Muslim nations, the practice of memorizing the Qur'an (Hifẓ) is still widespread today. In the face of complicated historical and political perspectives of Islam and religious pluralism, Hifz education institutes are regarded as places for spiritual and cultural grounding in Pakistan, Malaysia, Iran, Turkey, and several other nations with a majority of Muslims. The goal of the study is to determine, using Bourdieu's capital viewpoint, the factors that encourage parents to enroll their children at Hifz Madrasah. The study was exploratory in nature, with the goal of investigating how cultural capital, social capital, and human capital influence parental decisions to enroll their children in Hifz Madrasahs.
