Nipah virus (NiV) is a highly fetal zoonotic pathogen endemic to Bangladesh, with infections primarily transmitted through raw date palm sap contaminated by fruit bats where repeated outbreaks occur due to socio-cultural practices, especially in rural regions. This study investigated the knowledge, attitudes and practices (KAP) regarding the Nipah/Nipa virus among rural people and urban residents in Jhenaidah district in Bangladesh, a region at significant risk due to date palm sap consumption. It seeks to identify pivotal socio-demographic and behavioral factors influencing KAP and to highlight gaps between awareness and actual preventive actions in these communities.
