Life and Livelihood of the Sundarbans Mangrove Forest Resource-dependent People in Disaster-prone Southwestern Coastal Bangladesh

The Sundarbans mangrove forest (SMF) has long been recognized as a source of livelihood for thousands of people living adjacent to this World Heritage Site. However, the dynamics between forest dependency and livelihood outcomes of the Sundarbans mangrove forest resource-dependent communities (SMFRDCs) remained underexplored. This study examines how forest dependency has shaped the life and livelihood outcomes of SMFRDCs using the Sustainable Livelihood Approach (SLA).
