Shaharior Rahman Razu
Associate Professor



I am an Associate Professor of the Sociology Discipline at Khulna University, Bangladesh. My teaching and research focus on public health and gender issues broadly, including topics such as health disparities, access to healthcare, and the impact of gender on health outcomes. 

I did my PhD on health management at the University of New England, Australia, funded by the Australian Commonwealth Government. I have also worked as a Casual Academic and Project Researcher under the Faculty of Medicine and Health at UNE, AU. Earlier, I participated in a Doctoral Research Training program (Distinction) at Chiang Mai University, Thailand, and obtained both my Bachelor’s degree (1st position) and Master’s degree (1st position) from Khulna University.

Alongside my teaching career, I have authored/co-authored around 50 research articles published in peer-reviewed journals. Currently, I am serving as an editor for different international journals, including BMC Public Health (published by Springer Nature), the Journal of International Women’s Studies (published by Bridgewater State University, USA), etc. I have received numerous national and international awards, grants, and recognitions apart from my continued participation in conferences, seminars, and training sessions.
