This study will make a major contribution to the field of maternal and newborn health, particularly in the context of waterlogged regions in Bangladesh, which remain understudied. By investigating how recurrent post-waterlogging impacts postnatal care (PNC) utilization, the research will offer helpful information regarding the challenges faced by mothers in accessing healthcare services. The findings will help identify socio-economic, environmental, and institutional factors that affect PNC, contributing to the development of more targeted policies and interventions. This research will also assist in strengthening healthcare systems in waterlogged areas, enhancing disaster preparedness, and supporting national development by improving maternal and child health outcomes in vulnerable communities. Furthermore, the study will provide evidence for decision-makers to allocate resources more effectively, fostering long-term improvements in public health and disaster resilience in Bangladesh. Also, by tackling these important healthcare issues, the research supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), and SDG 13 (Climate Action), which focus on better health, providing safe water and sanitation, and building resilience to climate-related disasters.
