Showing the Impact of Sources of Fear of Failure on Initiating Entrepreneurship in University Students in Bangladesh: ‘Stressor-Strain-Outcome’ Model-Based Approach

This study has been conducted with the aim of identifying the sources of failure-related anxiety in initiating ventures among university graduates in Bangladesh. The main purposes of this study are to identify the reasons and measure their influences on the entrepreneurship of university students. For this study, data have been collected from the students of several public and private universities in this country. All of the respondents are from the final year of their graduation. To collect data, both the online survey through google Forms and the direct survey through a hardcopy of questionnaires have been conducted. A 6-point Likert scale was employed in this survey as it is quantitative research; then the collected data have been analyzed through both SPSS and SmartPLS. All the hypotheses in the study have been accepted here. This study has investigated that among the main three sources (perceived loss of financial resources, perceived lack of self-confidence, and perceived lack of social support) of fear of failure the perceived loss of financial resources is the most influential as its beta value is higher than the other two sources. That is the indicator of budget constraints of the people of Bangladesh, as it is a developing country and most of them are in the poor or middle classes. So, they do not want to take risks for their career, instead, they like to seek other jobs which provide them with financial security.
