Proceedings of the 2nd International Conference on Environment 2024: Time for Nature and Natural Resource Management

Abstract

The Environmental ScienceDiscipline(https://ku.ac.bd/discipline/es) - the pioneer of Bangladesh in the field of formal education on the science of environment at tertiary level - was established at Khulna University in 1997 and initiated undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate academic degree programmes. The Discipline organized 2nd International Conference on Environment: Time for Nature and Natural Resource  Management was held during 02-03March 2024. Proceedings of the 2nd International Conference was published in September 2025, 22 research papers were published in this proceedings after reviewing every paper by the two designated reviewers and the proceedings was edited by Abdullah Harun Chowdhury, Quazi Zahangir Hussain and Md. Mujibor Rahman. 1st International Conference on 'Environment: Climate Change and Ecosystem Restoration' was organized during 19-20 February2022. Such conferences would continue afterwards at two-year interval. Khulna finds its place in the global network because of its geographic location and climate change issues. This coastal region accommodates world heritage sites, and ecosystems of global importance (such as the Sundarbans Mangrove Forest), and as well is known for nature and human driven calamities such as cyclones and tidal surges. The Khulna University is located at the core of this region and experiences all the locational actualities. Khulna University attained its leadership as one of the most celebrated academic institutions in Bangladesh because of its quest for up to date academic and research endeavour.
