The second career
talk happened online on 01 March 2021. This talk was presented by Shamim
Ahammed and Md. Jahangir Alam. Shamim Ahammed has joined Bangladesh Civil
Service (Adminstration) in 2001. He has more than twenty years of professional
experiences. He is working in implementation of Vision 2041 for Bangladesh. He achieved
his Bachelor degree in Urban and Rural Planning from Khulna University in 1998.
He also holds a MBA from University of West London, UK. Currently, he is
working as a Director at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), Government of the
People's Republic of Bangladesh. Md. Jahangir Alam has joined Bangladesh Civil
Service (Administration) in 2008. He is currently working as an Additional
Deputy Commissioner (ADC) - General at Memensingh District. He holds a Bachelor
of Urban and Rural Planning from Khulna University (2005) & Master of Urban
and Regional Planning from Bangladesh University of Engineering &
Technology (2008) and an MSc in Project Management from Bournemouth University,
UK (2016). He is a passionate professional working for the development of
Bangladesh. Exiting students and alumni participated in this event. Shamim
Ahammed and Md. Jahangir Alam talked about their career path and highlighted
the values and preparations that future graduates of Urban and Rural Planning
Discipline of Khulna University should focus on to join Bangladesh Civil
Service. Career talk is a signature event of Urban and Rural Planning
Discipline to create a knowledge sharing platform for our graduates in relation
to their future employability. This event will seek cooperation from successful
professionals from varied fields to showcase their career paths to motivate
existing students of Urban and Rural Planning Discipline of Khulna University in
shaping their future career.
