City resilience index to assess coastal communities' resilience based on an analytic hierarchy process (AHP)

This research aims to: (i) assess and measure the extent to which the coastal city achieves resilience; (ii) explore drivers that contribute to the coastal city's resilience; and (iii) identify strategic action areas for developing resilient coastal cities in Bangladesh. The study mainly adopted a quantitative research strategy and collected data from primary and secondary sources. The specific method of data analysis follows three major steps. Firstly, a systematic review is conducted for understanding the resilience dynamics following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. Secondly, Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) is used to generate a weight for each indicator and major components of resilience. Thirdly, the indexing method is deployed to calculate the index values for the study area.
