Women’s Transformative Leadership in Disaster Preparedness and Response in Bangladesh

This study aimed to assess the nature and extent of women’s transformative leadership in a measurable, evidence-based, and accessible way that can complement existing disaster risk reduction practices and investment priorities, enabling communities to survive and thrive with multiple shocks and stresses when experienced. The findings of this study will be helpful for decision-makers at different levels to formulate women-focused development strategies for disaster preparedness and response. Also, the study will be instrumental for administrators, urban planners, communities, and Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) to promote resilience-building and vulnerability reduction activities. Consequently, this study will lead to open opportunities for engaging major stakeholders like civil society, local and international donors, governments of different levels, and private sectors to bring pro-women changes in society to tackle disaster and climate change.
