Just and equitable allocation of public resource is one of the major challenges in achieving sustainable development in South Asian cities. Current planning practice undermines neighbourhood as a planning unit while allocating resources and adopting plan. This research challenges the current practice and through an analysis of large dataset, identifies the existence of socio-spatial division at neighbourhood scale in relation to housing and amenities and suggests strategies for sustainable urban development
