- ‘International Workshop – Barents International Political Economy’, Kirovsk, Russia 17-18 May, 2011 where I presented a paper titled ‘Governance in the Barents Euro-Arctic Region: Unique Arrangement of Soft-law Cooperation’. The workshop, a part of multidisciplinary Nordforsk funded network, aims at advancing Nordic and Russian research collaboration on the challenges of sustainable development in the Barents Region. The research network and its research aim at providing new and multidisciplinary scientific information on the problematics facing the Barents region, especially focusing on governance of development, security and gender issues.

- ‘Nordic Environmental Law Network (NELN) Workshop: Integrated Product Policy and the ‘Polluter Pays’ Principle – Environmental Responsibility, Liability and Sustainability of Products’, Aarhus, Denmark 2-4 December 2007. I attended the workshop and acted as a referent to prepare final Workshop Report to NordForsk.
- ‘The Capability of International Governance Systems in the Arctic to Contribute to the Mitigation of Climate Change and Adjust to its Consequences (CIGSAC)’ Launching Seminar, Pyhätunturi, Finland, 31 August – 3 September 2006. It is a NIEM project funded by the Finnish Academy which aim is to produce a book. It is an inter-disciplinary research project with the expertise from two fields of science – international law and international relations relating to the climate change in the Arctic. I presented a paper in the seminar entitled ‘ Soft Law Challenge to the Law of International Organisations: The Case of the Arctic Council and Its Ability to Cope with the Consequences of Climate Change’.
- ‘International Seminar: Indigenous Rights, Identity and Tourism’, Rovaniemi, Finland 8-9 June 2006. I attended the seminar.
- ‘Fourth Annual Seminar of ARKTIS Graduate School: Environment and Justice in the North’, Pyhätunturi, Finland 3-4 April 2006. I attended the seminar and participated in a round table discussion on Environmental Impact Assessment in the Arctic.
- ‘11th Conference of the Parties (COP 11) and the 1st Conference of the Parties serving as the Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (COP/MOP 1) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change’, Montreal, Canada 28 November – 9 December 2005. I attended this UN Conference as a member of an observer organisation named Turku School of Economics and Business Administration.
- ‘3rd Annual Seminar of Nordic Research Network for Saami and Environmental Law (NORSEL)’, Tromsø, Norway 4-6 November 2005. I was opponent to a paper ‘Marine Protected Areas in the Territorial Sea and in the Exclusive Economic Zones’ presented by a PhD student of the Faculty of Law, University of Tromsø.
