Purpose: This paper aims to examine the impact of inclusive leadership on employee task

performance by focusing on psychological safety, job embeddedness and organizational

politics. It further investigates the mediating roles of psychological safety and job

embeddedness, while considering organizational politics as a moderator in shaping these

outcomes.

Design/methodology/approach: This study employed a quantitative approach using

convenience sampling technique to collect data from employees in the pharmaceutical

industry in Bangladesh. A standard questionnaire was used to obtain 202 valid responses,

and the analysis was conducted utilizing PLS-SEM with SmartPLS software.

Findings: The results of this study revealed that inclusive leadership has a positive and

significant impact on employees’ psychological safety, job embeddedness and task

performance. Moreover, it supported the serial mediation of psychological safety and job

embeddedness in the relationship between inclusive leadership and task performance.

However, the study found no significant moderating effect of organizational politics in the

relationship between inclusive leadership and job embeddedness.
