Quality of Higher Education in the Public Universities of Bangladesh: Key Challenges and Policy Forward

This study examines the major challenges affecting the quality of higher education in public universities in Bangladesh, including governance issues, resource constraints, faculty capacity, curriculum relevance, and teaching–learning environments. Using an evidence-based analytical approach, the research identifies structural and institutional gaps and proposes policy-oriented solutions to improve academic quality, accountability, and sustainability. The findings aim to inform policymakers, university administrators, and education stakeholders in strengthening the public higher education system in Bangladesh.
