This thesis investigates how indigenous communities in Bangladesh including the Munda, Oraon, Mahato, Marma, and Rakhayin preserve and transmit traditional knowledge in the face of modernization, globalization, and socio-economic pressures. Using qualitative interviews with community elders, the study examines the processes of knowledge creation, oral transmission, and governance, highlighting the central role of elders as custodians of cultural and ecological practices. The findings emphasize the importance of integrating indigenous knowledge into formal education and community development initiatives to support cultural continuity and sustainable livelihoods.
