This thesis investigates the influence of multinational corporations on Bangladesh’s agricultural sector, focusing on how the widespread adoption of hybrid seeds and synthetic inputs has affected farmer autonomy and local food systems. Using a critical political economy lens, the study examines the intersection of neo-colonial control, corporate power, and the erosion of food sovereignty, highlighting the socio-economic and environmental consequences for rural communities. The research emphasizes the need for sustainable, locally-driven agricultural practices to restore farmer independence and strengthen national food security.
