Green Transformational Leadership and Environmental Performance: Exploring the Role of Employee Green Behavior and Individual Green Values

This study attempts to estimate both direct as well as indirect consequences of green transformational leadership on environmental performance. Specifically, the potential mediating function of employee green behavior and the moderating impact of individual green values have been explored here. Where it is found that employee green behavior plays a complementary partial mediation in the relationship between green transformational leadership and environmental performance. Besides, the moderating effect of individual green values has also been found here that increases the effect size of employee green behavior. Besides these results, all the direct relationships between the constructs have been proven. Through a self-administered questionnaire survey, primary data was gathered from 400 respondents who are currently employed in the hospitality industry of Bangladesh. Utilizing the Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) technique, the study analyzes this data. The research aims to highlight the critical leadership role in instilling a sense of urgency for eco-conscious behavior among hotel staff. That will result in sustainable and responsible practices in the particular industry, to mitigate adverse environmental and cultural effects of tourism and ensure the well-being of local communities.
