Linking Green Human Resource Management Practices to Environmental Performance in the Hospitality Industry of Bangladesh: The Role of Employee Green Behavior and Green Innovation Culture

Businesses that are heavily involved in environmental pollution are turning more and more to green human resource management (GHRM) as a means of improving environmental performance. However, little focus has been placed on how GHRM may improve environmental performance in the hotel sector. In light of the pressure on Bangladeshi hotels to preserve the environment by providing eco-friendly goods and services, this study has been created with the goal of examining how the application of GHRM practices improve environmental performance through employee green behavior. The study also intends to explore the moderating effect of green innovation culture on GHRM practices and environmental performance since it is argued that when firms combine GHRM practices with green innovation culture, environmental performance improves. 400 employees of the 3-, 4-, and 5-star hotels will be surveyed using a structured questionnaire to collect data. Following the data collection, the discriminant validity, convergent validity, and composite reliability of the measuring scales to be utilized in the study will be investigated using exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). Based on the validity and reliability of the measurement scales, Partial least squares-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM), a widely used approach for examining moderation and mediation effects, will be used to evaluate the hypotheses. The study's findings and conclusions can benefit Bangladesh's hotel sector's organizational efforts to ensure environmental sustainability.
