Fisheries and Marine
Resource Technology (FMRT) Discipline of Khulna University engaged in
determining seasonal and temporal variations of water quality and nutrient
dynamics (e.g. Salinity, temperature, pH, DO, BOD, COD, total nitrogen (TN),
total phosphorus (TP), nitrate, phosphate, ammonium, TDS, EC, primary
productivity and chlorophyll a) in the major river systems of southwestern
coastal Bangladesh and the largest mangrove forest, Sundarbans. The Discipline
also serves adjacent aquaculture and fisher communities through checking water
quality parameters of fish and shellfish aquafarms and open water bodies.
