Effect of Ammonia on the Physiological Traits and Expression of Selected Candidate Genes of Orange Mud Crab (Scylla olivacea)

M.Sc. Thesis: The orange mud crab (Scylla olivacea) is the most promising coastal aquaculture species of Bangladesh. Currently, this species is farmed using low cost feed ingredients causing water quality deterioration. Ammonia is the most dominant form of toxic gases found in aquaculture systems. This thesis aims to investigate the changes in physiological traits and expression pattern of three selected genes (growth, immunity and metabolism related) of mud crab (Scylla olivacea) under different doses of ammonia.
