Effects of Temperature on the Expression patterns of Sex Determining Genes in the Black tiger Shrimp (Penaeus monodon)

Masters Thesis: Temperature is known to have a profound effect on many biological aspects of aquatic species including the sex determination in a vast majority of species. The molecular basis of this aspect indicates that temperature effectively alters the expression pattern of underlying genes that favor the onset and subsequent development of a particular sex (either male or female). This thesis investigated the temperature induced differential expression levels of different sex determing genes in black tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon).
