Impact of Salinity Stress on the Physiological Traits of Labeo rohita

Undergraduate (Honors) Thesis: The Indian major carp, Rohu (Labeo rohita) is the most important freshwater aquaculture species in Bangladesh and across the South-East Asian Countries. As a primary freshwater species, farming of this species is completely restricted in coastal areas. Moreover, this species is under severe threat of inland salinity intrusion due to climate change. This thesis attempted to acclimate Labeo rohita to different salinity levels and evaluated the consequential physiological changes including growth, survival, O2 consumption, and gill ultra-structure.
