Architecture Discipline, Khulna University is delighted to warmly welcome Professor Dr. Sheikh Serajul Hakim following his appointment as the Head of the Discipline from July 15, 2021 taking over from Professor Dr. Kh.Mahfuz-ud-Darain.

Dr. Hakim has been involved with the Architecture Discipline since December 2003, and currently holds the post of Professor. He graduated from BUET, completed MSc from IHS Erasmus University Rotterdam and received PhD from the National University of Singapore’s Centre for Advanced Studies in Architecture (CASA). Recognized as an expert in his field, he spoke invarious local and international events, published books and book chapters, and written extensively in journals and newspapers. Key areas of research for Prof. Hakim include but are not limited to: ‘politics, agency and historical transformation of human settlements’; ‘climate change, built heritage and resilience’; ‘postcolonial urbanism’. In the context of Bangladesh, he has been an inspirational figure among students and architecture community alike.

Architecture Discipline, Khulna University also congratulates Dr. Kh.Mahfuz-ud-Darain for the successful completion of his tenure that began in July 2018.The Discipline also expresses its deepest gratitude to Prof. Darain for his methodical approach, dynamism and hard works as a leader, especially for his bold guidance during the very difficult COVID months.
