Arfa Morshed is a Lecturer in the Architecture Discipline at Khulna University. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Khulna University, where she graduated with one of the highest distinctions, earning multiple Head’s List awards as well as university scholarships. She was also a delegate at the World Youth Summit, where she received the Best Project Award for her outstanding contribution. Before joining Khulna University, Arfa worked as a Lecturer in the Department of Architecture at the MIST and NUBTK. Currently, she is pursuing a Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning. Her research interests include urban informality, inclusive design, accessibility for differently-abled individuals, urban placemaking, child-friendly spaces, disaster management, equitable waterfront development, colonial architecture, and Zamindar houses. Her work focuses on the urban dynamics of Bangladeshi cities, particularly issues related to street vending, public space, and inclusive urban transformation. Arfa aims to grow as a researcher and academician by applying her academic knowledge and practical skills within professional and scholarly environments. She strives to contribute meaningfully to the fields of architecture and urban planning while continuously learning, adapting, and improving through dedication and consistent effort.

Keen interests of Arfa lie in urban planning and architecture, with a particular focus on inclusive design and accessibility for differently-abled individuals. Her academic and research pursuits extend to urban placemaking and publicness, child-friendly spaces, disaster management and planning, as well as the dynamics of informal urbanism. She is especially drawn to understanding urban development in Bangladeshi cities, with emphasis on issues related to street vendors, waterfront development, and equitable public space creation.
