Abstract

The study of bulk and nanomaterials is essential for understanding size-dependent properties and advancing
modern materials science. To find the better performance among bulk and nano particles, bulk Mn ferrite (bulkMnF) and nano Mn ferrite (nano-MnF) ferrite are synthesized by the co-precipitation method. The particle size of
the ferrites are investigated by scanning electron microscopy analysis, where the bulk-MnF sample contains μm
ranged particles and nano-MnF contains nm ranged particles. To find the average particle size of the samples,
Gaussian-fitted histogram analysis is applied. The structural parameters are studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD).
To explain the clear phase formation of the ferrites, the Rietveld refinement process has been applied in the XRD
process. To find the frequency dependent performance of the bulk and nano ferrites, frequency dependent
permeability, permittivity, loss tangent, quality factor, and electric modulus have been studied from 1 kHz to 100
MHz applied frequencies. Finally, with the help of comparison analysis, it is found that the bulk ferrite shows
better real permeability, and the nano ferrite shows a comparatively higher value of dielectric constant.
