About the Speaker: Dr. A A Mamun is a Professor of Physics and Director (in-charge) of Wazed Miah Science Research Centre of Jahangirnagar University. He received his Ph.D in plasma physics from the University of St. Andrews (UK). He has published over 400 research articles in international journals. Prof. Mamun has also written a book on introductory dusty plasma physics, published by the Institute of Physics (London), which is now being used as a textbook of universities of many western countries like UK, Germany, USA, etc. It is notable that the total citations of his research works already exceed 12,700 with i10-index 225 and h-index 49. Prof. Mamun was awarded a number of prestigious national/international awards for his outstanding contribution in physics. Some mentionable of them are Bessel Research Award-2009 (Germany), TWAS Young Scientist Prize-2006 (Italy), BAS (Gold Medal) Prize-2004 in Physical Sciences (Junior Group), BAS (Gold Medal) Prize-2011 in Physical Sciences (Senior Group), Best Young Physicist Prize-2000 (Italy).
