Dr. Rinku Majumder completed his PhD in Theoretical and Computational Nanoscience from Kanazawa University, Japan. His research training combines both nuclear and condensed matter physics through the use of advanced theoretical frameworks and first-principles computational methods. He has worked extensively with Density Functional Theory (DFT) and related approaches using computational packages such as CPVO, QSGW, FRESCO, CASTEP, VASP, and WIEN2k. His earlier work involved the Energy Density Functional (EDF) formalism for studying nuclear interaction potentials.
His current research focuses on functional materials, particularly perovskite systems, with an emphasis on structural distortions, octahedral tilting mechanisms, phase stability, and optoelectronic properties. His work involves detailed first-principles investigations of electronic band structures, effective charge carrier masses, thermodynamic stability, and optical responses to understand structure–property relationships at the atomic scale.
In addition to fundamental theoretical studies, his research is motivated by practical energy applications, including the development of low-cost perovskite solar cell materials suitable for sustainable energy solutions in Bangladesh. His work aims to bridge rigorous computational modeling with materials design strategies for real-world technological applications, especially in the field of next-generation energy materials.
