Signal Strength and Receiver sensitivity of GPS Measured by Smartphone

For precise GPS positioning down to the millimeter level all single error sources have to be treated individually, either by eliminating, modeling or estimating the influences. One of the main error sources in precise GPS positioning is the presence of multipath signals. These signals interfere with the direct signal and cause a phase shift, which degrades the observations and increases the level of processing residuals. The quality of GPS derived products can be improved statistically by integrating more and more observations and combining different analyses. For this work, more than 1200 data are collected from 93 different countries over the world and also data are collected from different places of Dhaka and Khulna in Bangladesh. We have found RF losses due to signal losses for different types of buildings or house. We analyzed the maximum and minimum Signal losses among the four types of considering buildings (Brick or stone house, wood frame house, Reinforced concrete house, Apartment building or hotel) and studied Signal losses in different dB zones. In Bangladesh we have collected data from apartment building and measure RF losses due to signal losses.
