Vehicle Speed Accuracy measured by Smartphone’s GPS Sensor

The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a satellite based navigation system that can be used to locate positions anywhere on earth .The GPS receivers are now an integral part of smartphones.  Now a days, we can measure the speed of our vehicle and get the path view direction by using different GPS apps in our smartphones, where we want to travel by the vehicle. In this work, we compare the GPS provided speed and path view with analogue speed and path view. We have collected the multipath and GPS accuracy data by four different branded selected model smartphones which are android based operating system. For collecting data, we have chosen two different places in Khulna, Bangladesh and used an app named ‘Speedometer’ in our selected smartphones. We also find the accuracy of GPS speedometer with respect to analogue speedometer. After different analysis of received data, which used smartphone’s GPS receiver system is better than other on our selected areas can be clearly visualized.
